Review: Renegade by Heather Dahlgren

*I was Given an ACR for an honest Review*
Renegade is great for those who like Rock Gods, and turning a Bad Boy into a love sick fool.
The start of the book was slow and read like a tired bored diary if I wasn’t to be reviewing I would’ve given up on the first chapter. Thankfully I had to review and it did pick up.  The Book had its ups and downs for me. Granted I will warn those; this has erotic bits in it.
While this is the first book I have read from Heather Dahlgren, I'm just a hard cookie to crack with Rock band romance. Though the writing style was very pleasant for me, and I had the book finished in no time.

Brooklyn Adler has the life she’s planned for. Job, house, boyfriend – in that order. It’s a boring, routine life were there are no surprises and nothing is spontaneous. It’s safe, it’s mundane and she’s fine with that.

Crosby Fitzgerald, better known as Fitz from the band Renegade, has a life he never planned for. Popularity, women and success – not always in that order. Everything he does is spontaneous and exciting, because life is worth living to the fullest.

A chance meeting with Brooklyn and Fitz begins to alter both of their worlds – ensuring neither will ever be the same.

I turn to walk to the gate and I hear, “Wait. Brooklyn, wait.” I turn around and see Fitz, running full speed toward me and I cover my mouth with my hand.
I look at Poopy and she shrugs her shoulders. “I swear I had no idea.”
Fitz reaches me and holds onto the top of my arms, breathing heavily. “Brooklyn, stay. The thought of you leaving is killing me, I can’t bare it. I want you here, with me.”
Tears running down my cheeks, I look into his blue eyes and my heart shatters in my chest. The hope I see in them makes this the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. “I can’t Fitz. I have to go.”
“You don’t get it do you? We may not have crossed any lines physically, but my heart did. I fell for you Brooklyn,” he says and starts to move in for a kiss.
I step back and shake my head as I try to contain a sob. “I can’t. I’m so sorry Fitz.” I can’t wait for him to reply because I am so close to letting him convince me that this is where I belong.
So with my heart broken, my stomach in my throat and the best parts of me left behind with Fitz, I walk through the gate that will take me back to where I came from.

So I signed up for the ARC, Knowing full well it was a Rock Band Romance. I always have hope that a book will make me a new fan, to a certain genre. What I wasn't aware of upon signing up that this book had erotic bits in. If I was I totally forgot. If you follow my ramblings you know I don't review those bits in a book at all.

Remember what gets me going isn't going to work for you and the other way around.

I want to rave about this book just for the writing style alone, and that there was not a typo that made me go AHHH!

The Book just fell flat for me, Brooklyn didn't grab my attention at all. The first chapter of the book had me going on hell this is going to be a long one.

Upon meeting Fitz I knew I was going through one hell of a trope. I was fine with that, I just wanted the trope to be exciting.

Brooklyn did surprise me at times and Fitz made me roll my eyes more times than I care to admit. The Band members had me laughing at times.

At one point I thought the book was coming to an end, to only realize I was half way through the book. This happened a couple times, where the author wrote a great "ending" but the book continued on.

There was even a sex scene that had me blushing and running for a cold ass shower, but I felt it wasn't really needed, it was sex for sex sake. I can't stand that!

If you told me you love naughty rock band romances, I would recommend Renegade to you.

Bound by Faerie: An Urban Fantasy Novel
Stolen Magic Book 1
By WB McKay
5 Starts out 5
*Was given an ARC for my Honest Opinion*

A Highly addictive world. I can't wait to get to know Sophie, Owen and all the others more in the following books. W.B. McKay writing style is so fluid I would've never known it was Husband/Wife collaboration if I wasn't told ahead of time. I can't wait to read more.

I highly recommend this book if you love mystery, comic relief, Sassy women, egotistical men, and all around fun. W.B. McKay had made a fan for life!

Sophie Morrigan inherited many magical gifts from her death goddess mother. Most of them inflict torture, except the most beautiful. That one kills.

As an agent for the Faerie Affairs Bureau, Sophie loves retrieving dangerous magical objects. The job lets her indulge her covetous nature, and most importantly, it pays the bills. But when a routine job goes south, she finds herself struggling to keep her deadly magic in check while fleeing the wrath of an enraged dragon. In a desperate search for answers, Sophie stumbles across Owen, a fae nightclub owner who's as sexy as he is irritating, but just happens to hold the key to her problems. Sophie wants nothing more than to get her magic under control and return to her normal life, but first she'll have to face off with all the dangers Faerie can throw at her. Can she fight her way back home? Or will both she and Owen fall prey to a crazed death cult?

"I like that you take eating so seriously.""Mostly just burgers. They're like sandwiches, but elevated until they're a wholly unique experience."

| My Feels & Review |

As an avid reader, nothing excited me more than opening up my email and an author reaching out for my honest opinion on their soon to be or latest release. It's like someone handing me their newborn baby moments after pushing that sucker out into the world.

That is exactly what happen, the better half of WB McKay ("Better Half" just for the fact they emailed me, so there for I am bias :P ) There was no way I could've  said no, after getting a look at the cover, which by the way is just awesome. They totally had me, with that the cover. I was completely ready to sign up for anything. Though before I squealed yes yes oh yes. I read the blurb and the first chapter that was also sent with the inquiry  about reviewing. I was hooked!

Seriously, read that first chapter and tell me you're not needing to know what happen next.

So read it I did, I am not mad that I did either. It was so worth it. I tried to drag it out. Only giving myself a small window before bed to read. Sadly I this wasn't to be, I had it done before I could blink an eye. I love books that do this. I love to be so engrossed in the story that I don't realize that it's coming to an end.

I Laugh, I snorted, and I rolled my damn eyes. Cause this story had it all. I will recommend the hell out of this book. I don't know why you're still reading this. I can't gush anymore without spoiling it, and I HATE SPOILERS. So read it, tell the authors how much you loved it, review it, and then message me and we can totally gossip about Sophie and Owen!

"Any moment I expected to turn a corner and end up in the Fire Swamps from The Princess Bride. Owen would have made a decent Dread Pirate Roberts. I didn't dare tell him so because I wasn't about to be called Princess Buttercup."

| About the Author |

WB McKay is the pen name of married authors Robert and Faith McKay. Their love of stories brought them together, and they've been writing by each other's side ever since. WB McKay marks the beginning of their true collaboration. They sat down and asked themselves what they couldn't get enough of. The answer was simple. They loved urban fantasy set in a massive universe with room for every creature they could imagine. Throw in a gutsy female lead, a dash of humor, a pinch of romance, and they would eat it up and ask for thirds.

With that recipe in mind, they created a universe based around the vibrant and enchantingly dark lives of the fae. They invite you to explore their world in Bound by Faerie, the first of their magical adventures.
