Red Queen By Victoria Aveyard

Kindle Unlimited at the time of reading.
Young Adult, Action Aventure, Mystery Thriller
This title was available through Kindle Unlimited for a very limited time. So I, of course, picked it up.
Let me be straight with you, I knew jack about this book besides everyone read it and liked it in some way or form, it has an awesome cover and it hit the requirements of the genre I was wanting to read at the time.
What I assumed of the book would be rags to riches/boy meets girl. Along with some upending drama plot twist.
What I got was an untrusting girl meets boy. Girl Thrust unwillingly into riches. Friends and Foes are not what they seem. Love-kinda triangle (I really wouldn't call it love, maybe strong feelings) that gave me whiplash. A plot twist I didn't see ahead of time.
Mare Barrow isn't what I expected her to be. She breaks the mold a bit on the typical heroine recipe. Which I find refreshing. The Silver Court is something else.
I highly recommend this book and can't wait to read Glass Sword (Red Queen Book 2)
My Advice to you is don't get attached to any certain character.
p.s. This started out as a meatier review, but I had to edit all parts that might be considered spoilers.
